The FIM Borilli EnduroGP opened its gates to Requista last weekend and the small French town hosted the first round of this troubled 2020 season.
Debut in style for the Brazilian tire manufacturer Borilli Racing, main sponsor of the 2020 Enduro World Championship, which climbed to the podium with its rider Bruno Crivillin in the Junior1 Class. The official riders, Alex Salvini and Bruno Crivillin, equipped with Borilli Racing 7 DAYS ENDURO tires, faced the SuperTest on Friday evening and three demanding special tests, for three laps, in the two days of competition.
Borilli Racing riders raced on mixed terrains ideal for the performing characteristics of 7 DAYS tires. A hard and dusty ground in the cross test, a hard ground in the enduro test and a natural extreme in which the organizers inserted a series of stones and a few logs in the special test.
On Sunday, the terrain of the special tests underwent a slight change due to the rain that fell on Saturday evening and from dusty to wet and slippery ground. Our top rider Alex Salvini arrived at the French GP with some physical ailment and a shoulder problem that has been gripping him for some time.
The Bologna-based rider gritted his teeth and raced both days of competition, finishing Day One in fifth position in the E2 class.
On the following day Alex Salvini, with his Honda equipped with the Borilli Racing 7 Days Enduro, faced the muddy special tests with his usual determination. The final score of the official Borilli Racing rider is another fifth place in the E2 class.
The opening day for the Junior rider Bruno Crivillin did not go very well, the big emotion for the first world race and too many mistakes were made. The Honda rider did not give up and on the following day ran an incredible race going to the podium in the Junior1 Class.
Thanks to this success, third place in the Junior1 Class, Bruno Crivilin gave the first world podium to the Borilli Racing company and made history by being the first Brazilian rider to get on a world podium.
The next appointment is scheduled for Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September where the Italian GP will take place in Spoleto.
ALEX SALVINI:
" We are continuing with the development of Borilli tires and the French GP was perfect because we tested the 7 Days Enduro tires in the hard and dusty terrain but also in the mud and slippery where they particularly impressed me. The final report is very satisfactory".
BRUNO CRIVILLIN:
"First of all, I want to thank Borilli Racing and all the people close to me because the emotion I felt after the third position obtained on Sunday is indescribable. Being the first Brazilian rider to get on a world podium fills me with joy".
